You have to talk to the people on the farm, until you find how to buy the Chocobo Lure Materia. If you cannot afford it, leave the Farm and either return to Kalm and sell some of your items, or keep fighting battles.
HINT : Talk to the Chocobos who are standing in the fenced area, they will do a little dance for you and give you the Choco/Mog Summon Materia.
Once you have the Chocobo Lure Materia, equip a Character with it. You then have to go out and catch a Chocobo. To do this you have to wander around the areas where you see tracks on the ground.
There is a chance that when you encounter a battle situation, there will be a Chocobo to catch (the music is different). You have to kill all the enemies, but DO NOT ATTACK THE CHOCOBO. Once you win the battle you will be riding a Chocobo.
When you have the Chocobo, ride South across a sandy area. You have to watch out for the Sand Snake. You wouldn't stand a chance if you weren't on a Chocobo.
Once you are across the sand, press X to dismount and head into the Mythril Mine.
