Madyokel, from Harrogate, has set All About Yorkshire - a smaller version of the All About The UK cache.

It requires you to find four travel bugs, one in each Riding of Yorkshire, each containing part of the coords to the cache itself.

Who will be the FTF?  Watch this space!

Yorkshire's first Camping Event is coming!

As part of the Mega Event weekend (which seems to be turning into a week), there is going to be a Camping Event near Ripon.

The site promises to be top notch, and we hope to see many Yorkshire folk turn out to show cachers from around the County (and even from around the Globe) what a nice area North Yorkshire is to visit.

We all know caching with Kids can be a nightmare, but choose the right type of cache and it can be a rewarding experience.

The Stonefielders have started this bookmark, picked for having any of these features.

  • Short walk
  • Good sized box for swaps
  • Fun activities, or things to spot along the way

Hollingworth Lake Cache PDF Print E-mail
Written by Harry & Anne
Monday, 07 January 2008

I was passing close to Hollingworth Lake and so decided to go find this newly published cache in the hope of getting a first to find.

Hollingworth Lake   GC18B5P

Despite a long search I retired without a score.

But hang on a minute.....the cache wasn't there to be found.  No, it had been stolen just minutes after having been placed.

And we think we have problems in Yorkshire.   Read on...

The Kings of Ebrauc Series PDF Print E-mail
Written by Jamie Stevens
Friday, 28 December 2007

Here's another of my edited Tracklogs, this time for The Kings of Ebrauc Series which was published on Christmas Eve 2007.

This series, based near Chelker Resevoir, gives some fantastic views over Bolton Abbey and further into North Yorkshire.  It's an eight cache multi, but other than the inital puzzle to get you to the first cache, it's really straightforward.

Going underfoot can be squeltchy, and there are several varieties of Style to negotiate.  Some of the paths do pass through farm properties, so zoom into my tracklog to see the legitimate approaches to take.

I have edited the tracklog to remove any hint of where each cache is!

I went to primary school in Swaffham Bulbeck until 1991 (when the post closed, oooh errr), and never knew this existed.
Brought my father up here, and couldn't understand the logs mentioning the views until we actually got up here.
25+ years of experience of the area and we still found a view that surprised us!
