The Kings of Ebrauc Series PDF Print E-mail
Written by Jamie Stevens
Friday, 28 December 2007

Here's another of my edited Tracklogs, this time for The Kings of Ebrauc Series which was published on Christmas Eve 2007.

This series, based near Chelker Resevoir, gives some fantastic views over Bolton Abbey and further into North Yorkshire.  It's an eight cache multi, but other than the inital puzzle to get you to the first cache, it's really straightforward.

Going underfoot can be squeltchy, and there are several varieties of Style to negotiate.  Some of the paths do pass through farm properties, so zoom into my tracklog to see the legitimate approaches to take.

I have edited the tracklog to remove any hint of where each cache is!

THE WARS OF THE ROSES – A Multi-Series of caches by Lanky Tyke

If, like me, you enjoy a good walk over high Pennine Moorland with superlative views at every turn, then this series is for you.

Lanky Tyke has found an eclectic mix of locations for this series which are on either side of the Yorkshire / Lancashire border around Widdop.

The series is based on the fictitious Army Base locations of the Lancastrian and Yorkist armies and Spy Camp locations and eventually the site of the final battle in the Wars of the Roses.

Not that this series is a game to be played out light-heartedly.  This series is not an easy walk by any standards, but do not let this put you off.

For a while now I've been keeping a bookmark of TBs and Geocoins that have been stuck in a cache for an extended period of time.

Well I've just given it a refresh, and there are a few in the Yorkshire and Humber region

Check out the map to see if there is one in a cache near you!

Found 65 minutes after the last one!
Yes, this was our first major stumbling block of the day.
We tried both old coords and the new ones, and had to resort to PAF!
After much sliding around in the mud we finally found it in a tree we had already examined and discounted.

I wouldn't say it is really in the base of a tree, it's more pushed up into the trunk.  In the end we found the new coords are spot on.

It was lovely to revisit the Ironbridge Gorge, somewhere I haven't been for almost 20 years.
